03/04 Cobra owners: side view mirror Q

Hey guys, just bought a pair of brand new 03/04 Cobra mirrors off ebay. they are still the factory primer looking flat black. I'll take them in to get painted this week but have a question: The actual mirror housing will get painted with the color code of the car, but the part of the mirror that mounts on the car is still black on the cobras. Is the black on that part of the mirror actually painted a flat black or is it just left alone the way it comes as a bare black metal?

IDK, mine look plastic on the black part I just use the Mothers "Back to Black" on it after im done cleaning. Its not paint on mine I dont think. Ill have to check when I get home.

mine came flat black, and they were left black by the painter, per my request. I think they look better with the flat black to offset against the paint...provides a nice contrast.

Right, I def plan on leaving them flat black to match the trim with just the mirror housings painted white.

The flat black on ur car, is it actually paint? or is it bare black metal?
