I was wondering how hard, & pricey, it would be to get some 03-04 cobra internals & heads. Basically I was thinkin jamming those into a 96-98 cobra motor. If I am wrong about those parts fitting please correct me. Any help would help. Go figure. Later fellas.

I dont think that would work or if it did you would have to do some major modifacations at least for the heads. Plus I would tink it would be easier and cheaper to get brnad new internals for your engine.

don't worry about the 03/04 Internals. There is better stuff out there. Get yourself a set of forged rods, and some CP or JE Pistons. The 03/04 Cobra heads will work, but you will need to port the stock 96-98 intake manifold to match the ports up correctly.

Well the engine's modular... it's made to be swapped with the other motors. Soprano's right though, there's better stuff out there for cheaper. Or you could always just buy an 03 cobra motor :P

EDIT: Though I strongly reccomend getting a new intake manifold with the heads... you know, PI swap. Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't believe the new heads and old manifold will even bolt up...

Yeah I just figured somehow I might be able to find some internals at a pick-a-part or something. I am in Alaska rightnow, but when I get back to houston I will be starting a build. On the intake manifold I would probably go w/ the stock 03-04 or have strictly fab one up. As for getting an 03-04 crate motor....not for no 12Gs. I could build a fox to go faster for that kind of loot. Thanks for the info guys.

Oh yeah, I got off track. How hard would it be to find a set of 03-04 heads considering knowone is swapping them just porting them?

Extremely difficult. You will find them but pay big bucks. You mat be better looking for a set of FR500 heads. They are pricey, but probably be easier to find. I would also look at a new intake, this way your don't have to mess with IRMC's any longer.

As far as internals, I agree with many of the others, there are better parts out there for the same or a little more.
