exactly since it's the best selling point. Especially in the cobra when they hit the gas and feel the kick in the pants

ok is this a tick that will eventually make the heads go bad because a lifter is going? Or is just noisy heads that you can either deal with the "tick" or get it fixed?

so in short, what causes the tick?

The tick is worn valve guides on 7 or 8 and causes oil to burn. A friend of mines cobra started burning oil excessively and he didn't check it and blew it up. turned out valve guide on 8 intake was gone and oil was pouring into the motor.

ahhhhhhh, ouch, does that all have to do with cylinders 7&8 being 80 degrees warmer then the rest of the cylinders because they don't have a air passage or whatever? i'll definitely listen for this tick when i purchase, is the tick obvious or do you really have to listen?

Well that was only 1 dealership, but I bought my GT from there AND my parents buy ALL their cars from them. and the salesmen I liked and used no longer works there. I am a salesmen in contracting, H-vac for Enviratech, so I do well enough to own a Snake, it's just they see 22 year old and they treat me like I have no chance of owning a fast Cobra, pricks.

The problem with the older style drivers side head was the exhaust port was too close to the water jacket and caused the head to heat up too much. The newer head is supposed to fix this issue (mine is ok at 10K). If you have an older 03 then the apten mod (runs a coolant line out the back of the head) should help with the temps.

Also listen to the motor regularly. I always turn off the radio and open the door before I shut her off to take a listen to make sure things sound healthy.

Damn guys i leave for the day and its like a chat room in here!!!

Hey neo can T&J burn me a chip? I think i'm going to blow that motor soon if i don't get a tune. It has a hard time pulling the car off the line. Seems as if its not gettin enough fuel. On the high way no problem in gettin up and going, just can only rev to 5800rpm.

Neo if you go with a live axel get a 31 spline not a 33. You can save some weight.

Yea but i need a good place to send out the computer or have a chip burned.

How much Hp does the 99-01 cobra hold and the 03-04 cobras? I heard my motor is good for 500HP but won't last long. 430 hp to the wheels is safe with my motor, true?
