Will my 97 gt parts bolt up to an 03 cobra short block? How much boost could this block handle? I want to be able to throw 14 psi without worrying if 10 psi doesnt do it for me. Thanks

It should work and these motors are a gamble some handle 600-700 hp all day long and some fail under factory boost. Just be sure to get a good tune. If your going to buy a block thou I would have one built with better pistions.

Apperently the 03 Cobra motor will withstand up to 30 lbs of boost...Depends on what GT parts you want to use..Radiator would be fine, tranny will work but probably will not last long...Other than that nothing off of the motor will work..Totally different..

isn't the GT block stronger than the cobra one ? (iron vs Al) ?

No. The Cobra block ('03+) is a GT block. Only difference is the clearance cuts (center bulkhead) for the center counterweights on the crank.

yes, they 96-98 cobras used the Teksid block that was made in Italy. Teksid was a supplier to Ferrari. they are cast from SAE 319 modified aluminum alloy and weigh a little more than 85lbs. in 99, the blocks different slightly, mostly from some changes in the main cap detail and the side main bolts. in 2001, they switched to a different block known as the WAP (Windsor Aluminum Plant) block. it had different oil drainback holes that kept oil away from the crank as much as possible. the WAP blocks look stronger because there is increased outside webbing.
