Ok i am in the middle of a dilema...i have 2 choices. i can either get an 03 cobra( sonic blue) and pulley, port, and a do a few more things to it and have to take out a loan for it and pay more on insurance

OR

i can stick with my supercharged GT where i'm already putting down 379 rwhp and build it

Which would be the wiser choice? i'm using ya'll as the last voice of reason for this decision b/c i trust in what ya'll have to say...

Id say get the cobra just because its sonic blue. But in all honesty I would just stay with the GT and build a 2v monster.

do you have the mph kit? i'd stick with what you have. the only reason I would go withthe cobra over your car is because ..... it is a COBRA, other than that I wouldnt take it over your car with the mods you have.

Most would probably say get a Cobra, and in most cases, I do believe that is the more economical choice. For one, a terminator is more than just another blown mustang. We all know it has a blown/forged 4V motor, but it also have a better interior, better tranny, exterior, IRS (if that is your thing), etc.

In my case, I always wanted my GT to be like many of the built ones I've seen at MPH, and every time I went there I wanted it even more badly. Since I already have exterior and interior mods, and just about everything else, including a tranny that can support the added power, I figured building my GT is the way to go.

You'll also have to ask yourself is this a car you plan on sticking with for a long time? If value and name is important, I'd recommend the Cobra. In my situation, I knew I'd never want to sell my GT, so value really wasn't all that important. Plus sentimental value played a role. I started off with a constipated TURD, dyno'd only 205rwhp bone stock (it was an auto), and actually more than tripled its power.

At least it's more erect and not floppy anymore.

Well, this is kinda something you should ask a couple questions to yourself. Taking it that you would no longer have the GT if you had a cobra.

More than likely you will want to take the supercharger off from a selling point. One being it will be hard to get more money with it on, and two it will worry some people about the reliability of the car. And to take the supercharger off, and put a factory tune on it could be time consuming and costly.

Now I don't know how much you can get an 03 Cobra for over there, but I actually did some looking and they are still in the 20-25K range over here. Gt's are around the 12-13K maybe higher or less but average. Since you are supercharged and have invested some good money into it, you probably best off building the 2V or finding a 4V swap. With this information you will probably have to pay about 10K more for a Cobra with BPU's getting your around ~400whp. Think about what you can do with 10K to your car compared to a ~400whp Cobra that you will probably have to hold off major mods to till you financially can do it or even want to.

In conclusion, if your car was a basic bolt on GT I'd say look at the Cobra, but since it isn't find out what your goals would be for the GT and realistically find prices for making it possible. Factor in shop costs to, just in case...you never know if you will need to.

if you have a modded cobra, everyone expects it to be 500rwhp fast. And that costs twice as much as your car is worth - at least. Having a modded 2V means people expect 260rwhp, so 379rwhp may cause some embarrassment at the track (or street if that's your thing)

I have never thought about going to a 4v or a 03-04 cobra. The 2v gt can be just as quick as the cobras with the right parts.

Just look at the cost of heads and cams on a 4v, this is an easy decisons. The interior isn't that much different other then gauges and seats anyways. If you ever come up upon a stock cobra, you will had him his tail. Just get some forged parts in your car and turn up with wick. I am in the same position as you, I have way too much money into my car, I am staying with the 2v and surprise people alot.

Stick with the GT. If the motor pops throw a NA cobra longblock in there for the price of a built 2v shortblock and run your vortech on it making 50whp more without popping it (prolly 475-500rwhp without really stressing it out).

Ok, I figured up how much money I have in my car. Including the cost of the car, and all of my mods I have $24,000 in it. I am making a lot of power simillar to some of the cobras out there with my little 2v. I like being the underdog in a race, and then just blowing their doors off. I wouldn't change a thing. I still love my GT.
