Took the 04 to the dyno today was very happy with it.

It was a Mustang dyno and I did very little tuning my predator was allmost right on.
Pulled

248 hp @ 4750 rpm
292 tq @ 4000 rpm

h pipe, flows, CAI and predator = 248 hp on a MUSTANG DYNO??
isn't that like 260+ on a DynoJet?

i think there's something wrong

looking at the graph i am very confused. why does one of the lines drop OFF the map??? neither HP or TQ should do that??

what did he enter as the weight of the vehicle?

The a/f line drops of the map and the tq drops off casue I took it to shutoff and it kinda spikes the graph. He put the weight at 3750. Yeah seemed kinda high for a mustang dyno but all dyno are differnet so who knows.

Most people did see worst numbers than our dynojet across town.

Guy runing the dyno said that it's hard to compare to a dyno jet cause it depends on how the setup is.

It has a built in 1/4 run and it was right now had me running a 9.20 1/8 mile and I when to the track last week and run a 9.16.

Stock GT's dyno ~ 215rwhp on Mustang Dyno's... so that means you got 30+rwhp from mods that don't equal 30 Mustang Dyno rwhp...

Just my observation...

and I don't think TQ should ever drop off the map like that...

In stock, except a set of flowmaster mufflers(wich give almost nill for hp),dyno'd at 230hp,and 280tq,at Sean Hyland Motorsports.
The following year with a mac catted h pipe,cold air,timing adjuster,and crappy a$$ air,she dyno'd at 250hp,and 292tq,at Sean Hyland Motorsports.
I do agree about the hp/tq dropping off. Something is weird.
On another note,i do believe that some stangs do run stronger then others.
This is note intended for an arguement, but a simple observation.

Ya he was on a dynojet both times. On a mustang dyno he woulda put sown about 15% less....I think.

3750 seems high and probably accounts for the numbers. Would be lower if the weight was lower.

Dyno's vary so much from place to place even with Dynojet's, it's best to use the same dyno for tuning. Hard to compare numbers on different dyno's.

Ford rates the ford mustang gt at 260 hp, how are u getting 245hp numbers? Dyno's aren't very accurate...with my flowmasters + xpipe and mac cai I am around 280 hp...

260 is at the crank, not the rear wheels. You have driveline loss that affects your horsepower. I suggest you find a dyno shop and get car checked. Most stock 4.6 mustangs are in the 220-230 range. While two different dynos(same brand) can vary 5 - 10 hp at different rpm ranges, its much more accurate then guessing what your hp is. People here are talking rear wheel horsepower, not crank.

Yeah it's 260 at the flywheel not the tires. Who knows this dyno supposed have a good rep. But yep all dyno's are different and it vary this is probaly just a high reading mustang dyno.

What's a fully loaded gt weight ? And am about 150 I thought 3750 was pretty close.

Oh and as far as going off the chart I didn't think 150 ft of tq at 6050 was bad ?

I think the v8 coupe is 3250 + fluids + driver. So your 250 or so high.

Shift at 5500, not 6k and you'll run decent times.

My dyno only ran up to 5500 (speed limiter) but I have 270+ rwtq at 5500rpm. it certainly doesn't cliff dive like the posted dyno...

Here are my bone stock dyno graph for comparison. Although it was done on a dynojet, the curve should look similar.

A buddy of mine has weighed his '01 GT stang with most of the weight reduction, and it tipped the scales around 3250,with driver. So the stang is actually heavier then that.I do believe i've read somewhere around 3400.
As for shifting,i shift at 6000/6100 rpm when i run the quarter mile, and pulled 13.7's at 103 mph on stock tires.I myself found when i did shift around 5500 rpm,my mph was lower, and so was my ET.
Maybe my stang is abnormal.

Did anyone notice where the HP and TQ intersected, 4400 or so? I have never seen a dyno sheet where they do not cross at 5250. Something is wrong somewhere.

The HP and torque numbers aren't lined up. Look at the left side of the graph closer. I think if the numbers matched up for both they would cross at 5250.

That number is a bit high, but it doesn't really matter what you dyno, the only nubmer that should be in your sig is what you run in the 1/4...
