04 V6 supercharger??

I've been looking around the internet for a while, and I can't seem to find one.. Anyone know of a good site?

Also, a small update on the 'Stang.
for all the guys from my newbie thread, the tailights are coming off... going to tint my stockers... and no lambo's or bags :nice:..lol i was looking for a GT for a little while but now i'm looking at getting myself a mini truck, so i'll just make the 6banger faster and keep it as my daily.

--lowering springs coming real soon. I believe they are FR B springs [my boyfriend bought them for me lol]

--next i'm going to be looking into a CAI [plastic]

--then looking at changing rear gears.. looking at the 4.10s?? i heard those were best for an automatic [[correct me if wrong??]]

--also looking at the small in-between stuff [spark plugs & wires, etc]

--then hopefully a supercharger or twin turbo kit. i've been told each was better than the other, so what is your opinion?

--thx for all suggestions & help =)

supercharger

hey whats up, you can find a supercharger for the 3.8 on vortechsuperchargers.com , it doesnt specifically say its for the 2004 v-6, its for the 1999 - 2001 v-6, i dont think theres a difference in engines from the 2004, theres a toll free number you can call and ask about that supercharger to see if itll fit the 04, it sells for about 4,500 or if you want the polished one its only 200 bucks more.

Actually there is quite a difference. It just depends on what month in 04 it was built. The early 04's used the 01-03 design, but the later part of the year had slightly modified engines. The later 04's were special editions.Specs from Ford say that the '04 is a 232 CI.But actually with the bore and stroke difference,it comes out to 236 CI.In other words,it's technically a 3.9L engine.Late built 01's added IMRC (Intake Manifold Runner Control).IMRC varied the amount of air entering each cylinder. The PCM has also been tuned differently to these changes.

So those specs on that supercharger for 99-01 may not include the late built models that added IMRC.Best thing, check this website out thoroughly and make sure it will work properly on your model year.

Kenny Bell also makes superchargers for V6 Mustangs.I'll look around and see what I can dig up.

The differences in Turbo's vs superchargers. As for what I know.Superchargers run off a pulley thats driven by a belt.Turbo's have no pulley but instead they spin..or spool up on a turbine that's powered by the exhaust pressure.IMO Superchargers are much easier to install. Now,as for the power output, superchargers have instant boost. The moment you hit that gas pedal,it starts boosting.Turbo's on the other hand.Because turbos are exhaust driven, there is a lag in the boost from the point you step on the pedal.Basically you have to wait for the exhaust to spin up the turbo before you can start feeling the boost. So turbos are good for boost only in mid to high RPM's.While superchargers boost instantly even at lower RPM's.It's just, the higher the RPM's,the more boost.Easy to understand.

One last thing. If you get a supercharger or turbo, you will need to replace your cylinder head gaskets. The factory gaskets cannot withstand the boost pressure and are NOT sufficient. You WILL blow them out.Get a high quality set so that way you wont ever have to worry about blowing them out.

I almost forgot,if you are going to run a SC,you'll definitely need to change out the stock 19LB injectors to a higher flow.24LB injectors may be sufficient depending on the SC.With higher flow injectors you'll also need to change out the MAF sensor to one that is calibrated for 24LB injectors.

Failure to change out the injectors with a SC installed will result in over lean fuel mixtures and could cause detonation. You DONT want that.

It's recommended to upgrade valve springs as well. While your're at it, go with some Harland Sharp Billet 1.8:1 rockers and hardened pushrods. This is good for about 20hp as well. I have a tuner though and I recommend a tuner for anyone doing mods. The tuner will take care of any idle problems, a ton of other engine mods and allow you to modify rear end gears or tire size changes so your speedometer works right. IF you have an automatic/aode/4R70W it will allow you to modify your transmissions valve body duties like torque modulatoin, shift firmness and rpm shift points. You'll feel like you just bought a new transmission when tuned properly.
ProCharger makes a very good Super Charger.
click on procharger above and you'll see a 3.8L mustang making 374RWHP. You'll notice he has added performance valve springs. Their Super Chargers have a 3yr warranty as well. Have fun, and if you want 400HP naturally aspirated go see supersixmotorsports
