my mom is leasing an 05 f-150 that is gonna be up in about 6 months so before she turned it in i was wondering since her truck has 3:73s as an option if i could swap them into my car and put my 3:27s in back in the truck. do they have an 8.8 rear end? and what would i need to do to calibrate the speedo on the truck? thanks

You're looking at a lot of work and hassle. I would feel sorry for whoever buys that truck after the lease. Afterall you should replace your stock gears with a performance set anyway.

yeah the time taken to take out the 3.73's and put in yours into the truck is worth more than a NEW set of PERFORMANCE gears.

cause i thought if i could do it and just have to buy the fluid why not. its the same thing as when hertz used to rent shelbys back in the 70s and you would take it home and swap the engines over the weekend. right now i need to get rid of my flows cause they sound nasty between 2 and 3k plus i need a new ac clutch. so im broke..it was just a thought

Hertz rented Shelby GT-350H (h for Hertz) that were produced in 1965, not the 1970s. Have mom buy you some rear end gears
