05 Mustang WITH flowmasters!! Pics AND video inside!!

I am neither hear nor there on the sound. I'd have to hear it in person and for longer than 20 seconds to form a real opinion. Like to hear it launch.

The stripes however are a total blow it on such a nice looking mustang. Either do the job or don't do the job, but this half way fecal matter is nasty.

with the mufflers way back there, the popping sound may be ard to get rid of.

I agree. I LOVE the sound of Flowmaster mufflers, but I have heard a 90 model Vette with add-on Flowmasters (not the cat back) and it sounded pretty bad. It sounded real good at idle but it had a lot of popping when you got on it. I do think that having the mufflers that far back were a factor. It was either that or the daul outlet set-up on each muffler. It really woke up the car though (He could beat my 86 GT after this change).

I have a Flowmaster muffler on my LS-1 Firebird and it is all the way in the back, but it is a cross flow muffler designed for the car. It sounds great but it is a little too quiet for me at WOT. I may try some turn downs on the car. I have heard, however if you take the cat out it will sound terrible with the Flowmaster.

Gears-

As you noted, it's absolutely critical, if you are interested in sound quality, that you buy the Flowmasters designed for your application.

My car has been at Flowmaster's R&D facility for 2 days now, and they appear to be doing it "right". Here is the word from Flowmaster as of lunchtime today, after a day and a half with the car.
Hey Bill,
We did the baseline dyno on Monday morning and I will get you the
numbers. We are currently working on muffler set #4, the first set was too
quiet, and the other two sounded great outside but resonated too much in the
car. I am hoping to try one more set and find the sweet spot. Still looks
like Thursday when you can come and get it. I will let you know for sure.
