so paint it, get stripes put on, buy some different wheels and lower it. Its a show car. You people still dont understand the concept of a show car do you? Never does it say taht that is an actual representation of a car on the lot.

Yes, I am sure we are all well aware of the concept of a "show car." It is there to demonstrate possibility; spark ideas; create excitement. I think what most of us are saying, or at least I am saying, is if Ford is this close to production, Ford already knows the final stance of the car. Don't misrepresent it; show us what to expect. Additionally, they already knew the 18" Rims would not be available for quite some time. Again, show people what to expect when they walk into a dealer. The strips I forgive them on as I believe they had intentions of providing them. As I stated in a previous post, they were in the ordering guide as an option, in great detail I may add, and were later removed. If they continue to show Stangs like this, the actual production model is going to be pale in comparison. Ford may find some saying, "This is not what I saw; not what I want. Ciao!" When they showed the new body style for 99 in early 98, I saw a "concept" Stang at a show... looked just like the production '99 I got in the driveway.

I really like the stripes, but am against modding the car like that on my own. I know you can just order from Bob White decals or some place similar, but besides paying more money, I would rather not mess with the paint like that. I am seriously considering babying my Mustang for the most part and keeping it for years and years. Gas guzzlers are going to be a thing in the past within my lifetime. I intend to have a museum piece to remind me of the good 'ol days when cars were fun to drive. That being said, I want to keep my car with a stock appearance. Come on Ford! Make stripes an option! (Maybe on one of the upcoming special editions...)

I would be willing to bet that it'll be on a special edition. It's probably why they made the realatively last minute decision to pull the strips as an option. It will make the SE's stand out more against the GT.
