Roush 06 Saleen Extreme Specs/stories?

Anyone have the REAL specs of the car? ive read 12.8 1/4 mile, 4.2 0-60. Ive heard 424 rwhp...any back up on this? any E dyno sheets/stories???

A guy in Car Domain posted the dyno results from his Rainbow Extreme:

I'll sum it up for you though:

Chassis Dyno Results:

RWHP = 409.1
Max Torque = 391.5
FWHP = 481.3
FW Torque = 460.6

Sounds more like the results from a SC.

In another forum a chick posted dyno numbers from a mustang dyno, and they were 448rwhp. Which sounds about where it should be. But still it's close to what can be produced from a regular s281 with a jdm 475 setup.

She also caused a huge blowout on the website talking trash about it being the car of all cars, hence my bitterness in the other thread you made.

There's just not enough of them around, and for some reason, the mustang magazines haven't gotten the Saleen, steeda, Roush, cervini's, livernois, vortech and gt500 together for a king of the mustang hill test.
Leave them all on regular street tires, and we'd have our answers.

You are very right...just of all my saleen buddies around detroit that i cruise with ...the all have 99-04 body styles and my Extreme is still either a close race or possibly even a losing race....given

remember i was comparing stock to stock, cause i could take my 550 and make it 750 just as easy as you can take the 375 and make it 495! buy why would i mod that car!

car of all cars? no. car that went from "its still a mustang" to arguably comparable to other supercars... i think there is an argument from the car as a whole (including limited production numbers) IMO Just think about comparing Steve Saleen to John Delorean and those guys not jack roush and Carroll Shelby jack roush is not considered a auto-manufacturer, and SVT is owned by Ford! and to think Steve Saleen can produce these high power cars that are legal in all 50 states (crash testing and emmissions are a b**** to comply with) owning a private company and have it sitting on the show-room floor next the the S7 (considered the worlds fastest supercar).... now thats why Saleen owners have pride!!!!!! who else is an auto-manufacturer and ownes their own private company besides Saleen (that has been successful, unlike John Delorean)?????

I've heard of only a couple of extremes on the dyno. The results were not impressive to me given the 550 claim, forged internals, etc.

Mr Bomb is correct.

Steve does not own the company he started any longer. He is well paid though to make appearances like he does.

Steve's own racing career was luke warm at best. I don't think it's even ok to put him and DeLorean in the same sentence. DeLorean was extremely successful right up to the end ( not including his own co. ) Where would we be today if he had not talked GM in to slamming a big motor into the car we call the GTO?

That's another story.

EXTREME550! How about more pictures of your ex or current girlfriend on the hood of your new car? Now that would be a good 2005 and up Saleen Extreme thread!

To clear up what 2000XP8 was trying to say is that unless we can get one of the Mustang mags to do a real world comparison between all of the cars he mentioned on the same tires they come off the showroom floor with we may never know who's mustang is really king of the hill.

Hancock Park Associates, based in Century City, has owned Saleen Inc. for several years. They are a venture capital company with quite a few holdings including Gordon Biersch brewery and Barcalounger chairs. They also own several fitness companies.

Hancock used to be a client of my company and I was never able to find out about why they bought Saleen or what the future plans were.

I also heard at one point the owner of Galpin Ford in the San Fernando Valley had an interest in Saleen Inc.

We lost Hancock as a client about a year ago so don't know if they are interested in any more acquisitions. These VC firms usually look for "distressed" companies to go after. I do know that there is lot's of $$ available now to buy/invest in middle market companies. They usually find you rather than you finding them.

Actually, I think it says "distressed" on their letter head.

Interesting if Galpin has some ownership. You would think they would be handling the vehicle sales from the mall store instead of Rancho.

The 409 rwhp numbers are for my S281SC car with Extreme Rainbow Paint. It's not an Extreme model.
