..i know the minimum suggested is .100... my exhaust is .085 and intake is .060..

i know the right thing to do is pull the short block apart and fly cut the pistons, but i really hate to get into the short block right now, this was supposed to be just a simple cam swap.

what do you guys think my odds are of getting away with my .060/.085 clearances. i have brand new springs in and they are 600 lbs.. so i probably wont be encountering valve float. the cam is a 4400-7200 powerband in a race-only car.

some opinions guys..? thanks.

As long as you can control the valvetrain you will not have any issues, we've run tighter into the 7500rpm range. You could add a slightly thicker head gasket to give a little added clearance if needed. Timing will be critical, were are you checking the clearance at, the piston is closest at 10 degree before and after TDC, CHECK THERE.
