I've decided on BBK LT's but I was wondering what size would be better. At the moment the car is stock, but I will have worked heads and a new intake manifold and cam... probally thumper heads and weiland stealth manifold (please don't turn this into a thumper or not thread) by the middle of summer which I'll put everything on at once.

1-5/8" will work fine for your future combo, the 1-3/4" will be too large IMO

First let me say... good choice on the heads. I had them on my car for one season and loved the performance for the money.

Now as for headers, you probably wont have enough airflow to justify useing 1 3/4 " headers. The thumper heads build alot of torque and make a very good street head. The 1 5/8 long tubes would be a better match IMO.

You would have to be pushing a whole lot of power to make the 1 3/4 worth it. The 1 5/8 will be fine for a while.

Not to jack or whore the thread but at what level are 1 3/4 longtubes a good idea? Ideally Id like something to grow into - not replace all over again!
