I'm shopping for headers and was thinking of getting some Tri-Ys, but I cant find any that have 1 5/8" primaries. 1 1/2" headers will work, but IMO wont be optimal. Clearing the power steering without a bracket is important too, if even possible. I also need them to clear clutch linkage. If this is impossible for whatever reason, I'll just remove the PS and get some Hooker Comps.

Thanks for the info. I seem to recall someone saying Patriots fit without a bracket despite saying it's needed, but they are also 1 1/2".
Not true, i have patriots with 1 1/2" to 2 1/2" collectors and they do not clear without the bracket. actually, even with the bracket there was some serious rubbing issues to where i had to take a hammer and dimple the collector on the drivers side header :bang:

worse still is that the hookers might not fit all that well. I bought some Hookers and both the stock steering linkage and a rack and pinion set up both hit it. Since they are ceramic coated, I cant even cut off the offending tube and weld another on without having it look incredibly lame.

Do you have any pictures of your Dougs, either from the bay or under the car? Since they have a different header for manuals and automatics, I'm concerned that yours clear the PS because they dont worry about a clutch z-bar.

I'm in a tight spot. I dont want Tri-Ys if I have to ditch the PS to use them and its seems that I may have to buy a set in order to find out. I prefer 4 into 1 headers if I have a choice.
