Im finally putting on my Thumpers and was wondering how much more power I would really get from 1.7 rockers instead of 1.6's ?? Im not using full roller rockers Im using the magnums!
willys1 said:Yes I have the spring upgrade. I didnt ask for your advice,,I asked how much more power they would provide..Im using the stock valve covers,,with the 1.7's they have to be customized by the oil fill hole..So is the power difference really worth 1.7's?
Im using a T-Moss ported intake..Im not gonna change the cam because Im looking for a low end torque set up! ,,,Dave,,did you use an oil breather on the valva cover?Grn92LX said:Ouch, that was harsh willy. lol
I can see 5-8hp with a 1.7 rocker over a 1.6 rocker. I'd stay 1.6 for more camshaft choice. Why the stock cam? You'll more than likely have to remove the baffle or trim it as dave said. I removed mine.
What manifold you using?

A tube with a filter on the end?,,,where is it going?5spd GT said:Nope, I'm just running with a tube off the oil filler neck.
It is the tube that goes from the oil filler neck to the throttle body...but I have the throttle body line capped off and the tube is just connected to the oil filler neck and pointed towards the ground...there is no filter...willys1 said:A tube with a filter on the end?,,,where is it going?
Cool ,,Thanks Mike!!thumper460 said:Hell yeah... 1.7s will add lift to the stocker!! and that is power!! BUT... I wouldnt BUY 1.7s vs a bigger cam and the 1.6's you have!! The 1.6 is a good ratio and there are a bazillion cams for that ratio!! cool?? Hey, let us know how you like them... cool??
Just me..................
