1.7 rocker arm

I currently have a 226 duration camshaft with .474 lift. I want to go with a aluminum roller rocker arms with 1.7 ratio. I believe that should set me close to .504 lift. Will I have clearance issues with the pistons? I have a stock 1984 302 with GT40 P heads. Ive heard guys claiming they have used camshafts with 230 duration and 512 lift with stock 302.

No way to know without checking, but PTV clearance usually has more to do with duration...although lift does play a part.

I HAVE RUN THE X CAM WITH A BONE STOCK LONG BLOCK WITH NO ISSUES. sorry bout the caps

if you start having higher rpm breakup issues, keep the valve springs in mind as the opening and closing rate will be higher now.
