ok i just bought an 89 gt. it has the frpp crane stamped 1.7's on it, and it has an e-cam as well. it has really tall valve covers on it now that interfere with the throttle linkage operating smoothly. my question is if i put stock valve covers on it would the rocker hit or would i be alright if i just removed the oil baffle ?? any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

in case it matters this car has the bbk ssi intake, so that may also have the throttle linkage in an awkward position.

It will hit. I removed the baffle and had zero problems.

Look at Edelbrocks VC gaskets they're very thick and should give you the clearance you need w/o removing the baffle. Just don't over tighten the bolts or the VC will crack - ask me how I know.

Good luck.
