i just picked up my new project a 91 gt and its completely stock. I dont know much about 5.0s as ive had the 4.6s. My buddy gave me a set of crane 1.7 rr and i tried installing them last night and the bolt was just a little to big for my stock head. Could i go to the hardware store and get some grade 8 bolts that are the rite size? Or is there something special about the bolts that came with them? Any help is greatly appriciated!

Did he give you all the hardware or just the roller rockers? If not you will need to order the crane kit to install the rockers

I don't think those would fit on a stock head, the Cobras had GT-40's

did you notice any chance with rockers on the stock heads? People say it can float the valves. What harm can this cause?

You are prob not gonna notice a thing with stock heads and intake and cam.

If your springs are original and 100K, putting on a 1.72 might increase the chance of floating a valve.

Honestly, i'd either mothball them til you get more mods...or sell them to finance better mods. 1.72's aren't a typical mod for stock 5.0's.

my valves started floating aroung 5800.... I didn't care as I was changing the engine anyway. I shifted that car when it stopped pulling. Upon tear down I had ringlands in 4 cylinders that were destroyed....
