1" spacer & GT40 Tublar

Anyone know if the gt40 Tubular upper and a 1" phenolic spacer will work on a stock fox body hood? I have installed vert mounts which definitely seemed to lower the engine. The stock fan barely clears the lower shroud with the new mounts.
I will just machine the spacer height if needed.

Thinking that you allready have on the gt40 intake do the paly-doh test. Build the play-doh close the hood and see how much room you have left. Keep in mind that you have an added 2 gaskets too.

Mine cleared without the underhood insulator but I would recommend the playdoh test as described above.

Thanks. I am guessing I will have a good shot of clearing with the spacer. I don't have the manifold on the car yet, I still have one more hole to put in the explorer lower that I will do this week. I had the lower hot tanked and bead blasted, it looks pretty nice now.

It looks like my GT40 tubular and 1" spacer will fit under the stock hood without clearance issues. The hood shut just fine.
The A/C hose going to the accumulator was a bit stiff and a bit hard to push out of the way. The hose is probably going to have to stress relieve a bit in its new position so I hope it doesn't leak or have any ill effects.

One question for all you GT40 Tubluar guys out there....what do you do with the salt and pepper shakers? Just leave them floating at the back of the engine or zip tie them down? Doesn't look like there is any way to hold them to the GT40 intake?

I ziptied mine out of of the way. I also believe that I ran my a/c hose under the intake. I don't have the gt40 anymore so I can't be certain.

Thanks for the note. Anyone else with a GT40 Tubular & 1" spacer remember if they ran the A/C line under the intake??
