has anybody ever just tried to do this. i did today and i am not sure if it is working but it is not too much different than the 91 tbird alt. i am waiting to get fixed now. if you have tried this and it worked, i need a wiring diagram to check my work. the gauge moves a tiny bit when the engine is brought up from an idle. i am not sure if this is even a 1 wire alt. it has the stud on the back and then a plug in for 2 other wires. it is labeled #1 and #2 for those small wires.

hey it does work, and it works good. i always forget to take the batter cable off while the car is running to test the alt. and i did the day after and it kept running. damn i am poor, i need to get that regulator for my ford alt. does anybody know how many amps the chevy 1 wire alt. puts out. i am not sure what year it is because it was given to me
