last july i had a gt-40 crate w/ x heads, e cam, 24lbs inj., trick flow track heat intake, bbk 65mm throttle body, c&l cold air intake k&n filter. ford 9mm plug wiresfireball ignition. a buddy of mine burnt me a chip thats not in yet but my question would be, i have very poor low end power from idle to 2500rpms it misses and backfires then @ 2500 it takes off would not having the chip in have anything to do with this? i found that my aic was bad and replaced it. so sunday i will get my chip in and tps set. but any other suggestions?

Just curious of how you have the chip but it is not in...I had a SCT ship installed and dyno'd same time......with mods I don't think a pre-cut chip will get all the bugs worked out and Hp max for you....there are some guys who do some tuning on here that will have more info......

Don 95Vert is the one who tuned my car....Lasotaracing.com......I know that he makes SCT chips that upgrade a stock motor and will mail them out but when you have a custom set up...(H/C/I etc) you will need that tune for your specific set up or your not getting your moneys worth....as far as the stall goes.....My gears threw off my shift points and Don set that up through the chip....I have the 2300 stall in now and it is way low for what I have....I don't know if it effects turning because when I talked to Don and his son about ordering the 3500 stall they said it won't affect my tune.....just my low end and launch......hopefully I helped...lol

Also if you don't have an adjustable fuel pressure regulator get one and set it at 42psi for starters with those 24 pounders because they don't atomize correctly below 40.

Also check to make sure your plugs are the right length and heat range for your new set-up

I'll bet almost anything this is the tune. The only way I could get my car to even run when I changed H/C/I injectors, and MAF was with a good tuner shop. Forget about just slapping on a MAF from somehwere "programmed" for your size injectors. I DIDN'T work for me. Mail order chip did not work either. TAKE it to a shop even if you have to tow it like I did and then drive it out. Good luck.

Good luck. I think you will be pleased. Like I said, I had to literally tow my car to the shop b4 it would run, lol. But now, no worries!
