11's?

Anyone here running 11's in the 1/4. How about N/A? I know Bill has done it N/A but anyone else? I am planning on hitting 11's this year and wanted to know if anyone is around that e.t? I know there could be alot of boost guys around there, anyone else chasing similar goals?

Yeah there are quite a few on here that are in the 11's on boost, but few that are there N/A. It has been done. Weight reduction, suspension, and traction are the single biggest key to doing so. Power just helps you overcome those obstacles quicker.

Yea the only weight reduction i have is my aluminum block and spare tire and jack removed. My car has stock suspension other then flsfc. But i do have 26x10 slicks for traction, I would like to hit high 11's without doing anything to gut my car interior wise and as little suspension work as possible.

Get yourself some lightweight wheels for the track. 15's are your best bet here. That can knock off a few tenths by itself.

Your probably going to need some more hp. 114 mph is what I needed to run 11's. My race weight is 3450 and my car was making ~360rwhp/475rwtq at that time.

I am gettin a pair of weld draglights when my tax money comes in. I am adding a set of cams to the car to add power and a set of 4.10s to get me up to speed faster.

I'd suggest getting some draglites for the front as well. I shaved ~20lbs off each of the fronts with my skinnies over my 17" Cobra R's.

Thats what i meant by a pair, fatties and skinnies. Never raced on slicks before what rpm do you launch yours at?

I'm close, but not quite there, but that was with boost (and an engine half the size). I'm making a few small changes this year and hope to get some 11s.

im hoping to get in the 11.80's-11.90's with suspension, a set of welds, and driving the hell out of it! oh yeah... with NPI heads too

that will be with the new cams, upper plenuim, and retune!

Well, launching on motor will be quite a bit different than launching with nitrous. But, I usually leave around 4k rpm.

I have heard that 5500 launch and then others said lower so i guess im going to have to take it to the track and practice some more.

I am running et street radials now. If I had slicks, then yeah, I would launch quite a bit higher. Be careful if your still on the stock axles.

On slicks I was launching at 6200 with the stock cams, with aftermarket cams I was launching at 6600-6800.

That will definetely be quite an accomplishment in my eyes if you can achieve this.

I am actually doing a 31 spline rear when i put my gears in. Thanks bill for your input in rpms but i guess it is something i will have to feel out when i get it to the track.

Hey Bill, what kind of 60' times were you pulling in that video? Also, was that on slicks or dr's?

Just curious, cause I'd like to get mine into the 12's NA this year. I ran a 13.16 @ 104 last year with a 1.88 60'.

No problem with the hijack i was just trying to start up a thread about racing. I bought my stang with the intention on having a 12 second N/A street car now that 12's has been accomplished i want to get to 11's in street trim. I dont really own my car to impress people or to get attention nor is my car a dyno queen. I dont care what numbers it puts down on the dyno i just want good numbers on the track. I enjoy driving my car and when the day comes were i dont enjoy driving my car i will probably sell it, for something else.

Yeah, I'm not real big on dyno numbers either. If my car will run the number I want, then I'm happy.

My goal for this year is to run a 10.9x on the bottle and get into the mid/high 12's NA.
