Is that a fox thing? On the 94 95 the water pump just fastens to the timing cover. There might be some studs on my pump that fastened if I recall correctly if it's the same concept.@from6to8

The bolts in question at the ones that hold the plate to the back of the water pump, covers the wirlygig inside.

I read his comments earlier and went back and look at the images on the prior page looks like it's Post number 880 that showed the images. As the gasket sits on the cover, it's not touching the bolts and it looks like the gasket is aligned. Those are the bolts before you shaved them down so unless in hell or other boats that I'm not seeing I don't see how they were touching the gasket from what I could see from those images, but I guess they were lol .Aerocoupe's comment in #881.

Maybe that's where all the confusion is because I've never had that issue that he had or you guys said he needed to trim the bolt head down or never read about it or heard of it so all that's new to me. When I googled something earlier and of course Google can be wrong, but it said something to the effect that the fox set up is different from the 94-95 (how different I don't know). I have never had to confirm that or looked into seeing whether they were or not

What's funny is that it doesn't come up all that often. Folks are either getting the right bolts with their parts or extremely lucky. You would think that we'd see threads about that thing specifically, more often.
It's been some time since I had to install a water pump but when I did, I'd ordered a quality bolt kit before hand knowing all my stuff was from the factory so, I didn't run into this issue or even learn about it until later.
