I am just posting this thread for anyone interested in possibly purchasing this clutch. I was told my many that by about 300 miles, the clutch should lose it's chatter. Well, 150 miles of stop and go driving have been done and there is just as much chatter as the first 10 miles. I'll give you guys another update later..

 thats sucks never had any chatter at all, i feel like i lucked out, mine is very streetable and i love it. i would resurface the fly wheel and try it again,,,, but i know sticking that thing in there again is gonna be really tough for you.

I just ordered a SPEC clutch. I talked to thier tech for quite some time. He told me that if you did a lot of traffic driving, the III could still chatter some. I ended up with the II+. It will hold almost as much power as a III, much more than a regular II, but is more streetable than a III. It also cost a bit more than a III. Mine is going in as we speak, but don't know if I will get it broken in for a few months, as it is entering the rainy season here.

200 Miles and still no difference.. You really just have to let this clutch out quickly in order not to chatter. When it chatters, it is extremely annoying!! The whole driveline shakes. Reverse REALLY SUCKS..

reeber, no sweat. i have the stg II and mine chattered and shook the entire car for ~2k miles. now it drives fine, its just catchy as hell! my clutch is actually just now starting to lighten up after about 8 months :D those first 13k miles were pretty tiresome in traffic

Well, 320 miles are now on the clutch and it is noticeably better... Not perfect, but much better... Reverse still sucks, but getting into first gear isn't like riding a bull anymore. I'll keep you guys updated! I love the way it grabs! The car feels much stronger as there is NO SLIP! I bet my dyno numbers will be significantly higher once it's all broken in.

:stupid: hated the SPEC. I don't care what they say about how good it grabs(that they do well BTW). with amount of chatter, it was b ound to brake something - motor mount or trans mount down the road.

Wow.. Your really bitter about the Spec Stage 3, huh? I've read about a dozen of posts you wrote about how bad you hated it. Didn't you only have that clutch for like 100 miles?

13 miles. i could have tried little longer. But TOB failed badly. So i just dicided the hell with SPEC.

If you went through samething I did, u'd be bitter about them too.

the killer is that when i called SPEC about my TOB, they told me i can just go buy one at ford. NO 5hit! But i paid for it, and i want mine replaced, not to mention they are including TOB to clutch kit that are known to be POS.
I'm sure i'm not the only one very dissatisfied with SPEC. I'm just really vocal about my opinion

:uzi: SPEC

Anybody who had this chattering problem try just beating the **** out of the clutch to see if it fixes it? Like trying to feather from a stop taking off in 5th, just burning the heck out of it? Stupid thought.. just getting very angry reading these repeated posts about the damn chattering.

SPEC does grab. So it'll be almost impossible to slip it to start from 5th

400 miles and the clutch barely chatters in first... Still a bit of a pain in the ass in reverse, but getting better by every mile... Going to the track tomorrow night to really break in the bitch..

ouch, i'd give it at least 1200 miles w/ such a heavy duty clutch. i gave my stg 2 1k miles before i beat it

Hey guys, how long do the Spec 3's last since they grab so well? I think my clutch is gonna go soon, it's not acting up or anything, but I just don't know when the last time it was swapped. So right now I'm saving up for A) new clutch and B) catback :D
