18's on your foxbody? whats the best size tire?

those of you with 18's, what size tires are you running?? I have 17's with 245/45/17 tires right now and the fit is perfect on my car with FMS "B" springs. Chrome is peeling on mine and I want to switch to 18 inch saleen replicas, just curious what size tire I need to look at

245/40 car is lowered and they rub if you turn the wheel allll the way

245/40/18's on all four corners, Personally they are not wide enough for me.... i already bought 265/35/18's and they are coming, they will be on there soon! 245's are to skinny..

I thought I had read somewhere that the 265/35/18 was the best choice, just wasnt sure, those 245/40's dont look bad at all though, I just do not want to buy a tire thats not wide enough for the wheel and will have the baloon look to it

265/35 is the best fitting tire for a 18 inch rims period. I made the mistake of putting on 245/40's ha. As for the 275/35. Idk, depending on if that looks to wide for the rim? And is there any clearance issues? I know for a fact 265s don't have any issues.

Is there a height difference between the 245/40 up front and the 275/35 in the rear? If the front tire is taller then the rear it would look dumb..... Is it?

Very true, but i just assume 18x9 when he doesn't say it. If he was going 18x10 or bigger you'd think he would of said that...but still your right

what you have to remember is that width increases so does the height. So a 245/40/17 is way slimmer height wise than a 275/35/17 even thought the profile is less on teh 275

i know that... but i'm not sure how close they were. thats why i asked

I plan on running 18x9 on all four corners, sounds like 265/35/18 is the tire I need to go with

On my 18x9s I run 255/35s and on my 18x10s I run 285/35s.

Well i tell you what man, my neighbor has 18x9's and he is running the 265/35/18's on all four corners. Right now i'm running 245/40/18's on all four corners of my car. After seeing his tire next to mine. His is better in my opinion. First it has a shorter side wall, i think it looks better(Although it does call for a rougher ride quality) and second my tires are just so narrow and tall. It looks odd from the back. Where as his 265's are very wide. It looks very nice. But its up to you. If you wait about a week and a half i'll have some side by side photos. I'll have my new tires on by then! Good luck though.

I personally find the 35s to be too short of a tire wall. I like the 40s a little better. 35 just doesn't seem like it has any meat to it.

ANybody see the new MM&FF mag?? Theres is a black notch with 17X9 FR500 on the front and 17X10.5 FR500's on the rear!!! From the pics it did not look like he had extended lugs which is a sign of no spacer!! He had 315-35-17's...Is this possible??? If so....I want to buy those for my black notch......any thoughts, experiences???

I would do

245 35 18 in front and 275 35 18 in back...I got a couple sets of new tires for $200.00 a pair..hit me up with the size you need.
