1963 Hip Head??

Hi I am considering purchasing a set of 289 C30E heads. The casting number refers to a 63 289 hip with 49.2cc however they don't look to have the spring perches. Anyone know what they may be? Anyone ever seen these before or have any ideas/opinions on them?

Hipo heads have screw in rocker studs ,they also have raised pockets that the valve springs set in ,they are machined right into the head

Those heads do not appear to have the machined spring pockets ,studs can be threaded so i wouldnt trust that alone .
Are there any other places on the heads with numbers ? There are actually several castings withe the prefix C30E , if there is any other letter past that they are not Hipo

those heads have been reworked, the exhaust ports have definitely been ported, and screw in studs have been installed. i doubt they are factory hipo heads.

Can you give us a photo of the combustion chambers?
Looking at the casting book, there were different C3OE casting variations for the 221, 260, 289, and 289 HP.
