oh ouch, did one for a ford rep. in san louis with almost the same dammage
was not fun the rockers were bent in the middle ,frame straightener just barely straightend them had to replace from the rear of the doors back, that was the easy part . but i think you guys can handle it

Is that car as much of a "Bondo Box"/"Former Rust Bucket" as it appears in the pics?

The owner cut out the rust and used fiberglass mat and bondo and painted it back in 1985 and it looked good until the wreck

One of the things that helped is he had a gas tank shield made for it and it also has subframe connectors.

We have not had a lot of time to work on this because of other projects. The parts came in.



The engine was removed





We moved it to the shop and started removing the suspension

Yes it is the same car that was in Steve's editorial.

Because the subframe connectors were welded to the rear torque box the frame rail and rear floorboard was damaged but it stopped here.



You never know what is inside your rocker panels



The floors had been patched with fiberglass a long time ago.

Well, I'm glad it's getting (got) fixed. I can stop crying now.

The rear torque boxes had to be removed because there are rust holes in the inner rocker

The toe boards had to come off and also the top of the torque box because of rust.

More sand and rust







Brian has the top of the torque box welded back together after epoxy priming the back side.

holly , now thats some work.... dont they replicate those body's already? maybe its just the lazy part of me but i would have just bought a new one
