1978 Cobra Smog Tube Help

The car is a 1978 Cobra, 302/auto. Do the smog tubes that attach to the back of the heads require a gasket at each attachment?

Anyone? I’d appreciate the help. I’ve researched all over the place but have not found any information on it.

I think most of our Mustangs haven't seen their smog tubes since the 80's. And since no one sells such gaskets, it may not be a very practical question. I have no idea how the originals looked, but if they're flat machined surfaces a dab of copper RTV never hurt anyone. That's how my '95 was before deletion, no gaskets or sealer from the factory. But that's two decades later.
