So this actually gets back to car related stuff. So I've got an OLD compressor. Sits on wheels and the tank is probably 18-22 in diameter and 30-36 wide. So, I am thinking it's 5-8 gallons. I've been wanting a bigger one. If 20 gallons is really insufficient for just some die grinding, what's a decent size that you can probably get a HF that will do some grinding, maybe some painting? What does everyone else have?

I have a 33 gallon and experienced the same thing Mike does. Die grinders, cut off wheels and angle grinders only run a few seconds before compressor comes on. I think you need to get to about a 60 gallon tank with appropriate compressor before you can do a lot of that stuff without continuous running.

Bigger tank/capacity, same compressor, it will still not keep up, look at it in cfm, air flow and recovery.

You could always call the store and return that compressor.... Maybe they'll give you 500 extra on the gift card.

Only one problem....the bigger compressor will not fit in the mini in the box. You might have to tie it to the roof.

Just buy a second 20 gallon compressor and hook ‘em together, make 1 the primary and have the 2nd run as a ‘Helper’

Chris isn't really making a joke here, we have a secondary and a tertiary compressor at work.

Tertiary? Look at Dave breaking out the big words tonite! I don't have room for no 60 gallon right now, so I'll either run what I got or get a 21 gallon from HF. Upright tank would actually save some space. I'm working in a 2 car garage and room is a premium.

How come I'm the only one here that treats this place like a hang out?
I'm always the guy that stops by to show what I got, talk about what I'm doing, or simply rattle on about life.....
The rest of you guys have to have something tied to an internal combustion engine before you'll consider it..

See what it says below where I've underlined it:
1979 - 1995 (Fox, SN95.0, & 2.3L) -General/Talk-
General/Talk.......Nothing says that it has to be about anything,....but unless its about a 1979-1995 fox,sn95, or a 2.3L mustang,....it's just another day in cricketsville. Surely, I'd think that there's more to life with most of you than just sharing a common link to a car...Evidently not.

Fortunately for the sites administrator,.. I'll be the Sites' Huckleberry.

The intercooler system sold twice.....Once on CL, and again on Ebay. On CL, I priced the stuff to sell locally and didn't buffer in a freight cost...On Ebay, I did.
Yesterday a guy texts me and asks if I will send the stuff to Ohio for the listed price. I tell him yes, forgetting that I didn't add in any cushion for shipping on CL....I sucked it up though, and submitted a money request on paypal. I checked all through the night to see if he transferred any money in there, and at my last check around 11PM,.... nothing. I went to bed

This morning, I ck my email,..There's a note from Paypal, and another from Ebay telling me that my item sold, and that there was money in my paypal account...Only this was a different buyer, and obviously from the other site that I listed the stuff.
So,...I'm thinking the first guy is SOL,...too late to the draw, I accepted the Ebay purchase...I just texted slow hand to tell him that that item has sold, and cancelled the money request.. We'll see what he says here if he texts me back.

The intercooler was the one non-essential to the turbo system in it's current tune anyway, So I'm not gonna miss it one bit...After adding the water meth, it was just added weight. So even if I end up with the rest of the turbo stuff on a shelf,...It doesn't affect anything. I just gotta box it all up, (Intercooler, 2.5 gallon water reservoir, Bosch pump) and hope that my guess of 25.00 is enough to get that junk to California.

The head is gonna take a minute,...I need 60 grit cartridge rolls to smooth the rough grinding finish to a flatter-smoother version...Nobody in this town has those things,...I had to order a bag of 100 from Amazon...for 60 bucks..
60 bucks,....I'll end up with a buttload of those things that'll be in a drawer for the next ten years...
All I know is that I gotta get the head done, so I can move it to the machine shop. Hopefully, I haven't phcked the seats up,
and hopefully the machine shop will actually give me a true 3 angle valve job and not just lap the valves in and put the head back together.( I'll let them know that I'll be taking a valve back out to check.)
I need the head to build the intake transition tubes between the BMW throttle bodies, and my intake ports..That process has caused me to lose more than a few hours of sleep,..thinking about how I'm going to build that...
One version has me building a series of bends (that'll look like the J trap under your bathroom sink) To allow the tB's to stand straight up next to the head. It'll mean that there will be about 12" of tubing between the TB's and the port opening...
The other idea is to completely dissasemble the TB's if possible,..and extend the throttle shaft that interconnects the things...It's that shaft that determines the C to C spacing that they currently are at. If there is enough room to cut, and extend the shaft between each throttle body, I'll be able to put each one of them directly over my port configuration with only a "gender changing" mount plate between them, and the head itself (head port has vertical bolt config, and is round,...TB's have diagonal bolt config, and the mating flange is oval.) From the pic, It looks like the TB's have the injector bosses built into them...If I can cut and extend the shaft....I'll be able to use those bosses with my fuel rail.

If I can't,..I'll have to plug two holes in each throttle body....One is the hole that'll be directly below the shaft that was an air injection tube,...and obviously,..the injector bosses.

In the "Personal Life" section of todays' update, I decided to convert over to sales. The GM has offered to cushion my transition w/ a guaranteed 4k monthly buffer until I'm comfortable with the system for 60 days. I know the product, I just gotta learn the financial end of this business...I think 60 days to do that is more than generous.

That's it for today,...The wife has me going over to a friends house to look at installing a 65" TV over a fireplace, and measuring her wall for a piece of art work that I build,..(similar to the one I did in our house here),...both paying jobs that'll go to fund the Monster benevolent build fund....

That car is gonna be just as freakin cool w/o the turbo, as it was with it...............................Only a lot slower.

And yes,....It'll still be just as Orange... Ford,...Competition Orange.

Well I had to plug in the heater in the 'dump truck' because at 560+k the glow plugs don't like anything below 55° and I ain't gonna fix them. I have to figure out how to stuff a 53 chevy pickup into my garage, I can hear steve laughing at that one, he's seen my garage. Check engine light came on in the 89 gt, opened the hood (bonnet for our foreign members) engine still there, guess I gotta pull codes, Blaa, blaa, blaa.
There, thats my contribution, and no, I don't have anything painted Ford Competition Orange

Let's see... Oh I did a bunch of tile work on Saturday and had some friends over for a bar-b-q did a big pork picnic on the smoker for about 8hrs. Was awesome! Got drunk laughed drank some more went to bed. Now I'm surfing the net and drinking coffee, checking my email and such.

On the vehicular side of things, I think some runner length would help with torque production. I wish I had one of those engine programs to punch runner length into and play around with it. What's the rpm range of the cam? May want to consider that before settling on a design.
If nothing else you could use those injector bungs to epoxy (or tap them) for hose barbs and vacuum line them together for the pcv syetem.

Seems like a waste of a perfect injector bung though. What car is that assembly off of? I want to look ish up on it

I am sure youll get the sales gig down within two weeks time. Glad youve made a choice and proceeded. I still havent done anything to write home (Stangnet) about, we had a family Christmas yesterday. It was a nice day seeing all of my own family, and today I may just sneak out and check all the fuses in my car to see if Im actually that lucky/stupid. The other plan for the day is to help my son make his first pinewood derby car.

First off Mike, you've always been my Huckleberry.

Now you're the Lone Ranger too? Have you even looked at my thread as of late there Michael? How much car stuff has been happening?

True, I may specialize more in the beverage area, making me the drunk Huckelberry I suppose. I've seen your booze stache though, I won't be showing you anything new there.

Within seven to fourteen days though, mine will be filled with caragain and you'll have to be the sole proprietor of other stuff Huckelberryisms.

right before the wife tags me to go over to her friends house,...I get out Medusa.

I bolt the turbo on, and attach the down pipe to the turbo flange. I bolt a waste gate onto the rear most part of Medusa, and attach the other end to the down pipe. The waste gate will now hold the down pipe in place now, in the orientation that will work with everything else as it's built in the exhaust system.

I get out the sawzall, and proceed to cut away the front 3 tubes from the turbo flange, and the head flange.

Medusa is now a thing of the past...

So here's the plan: Tomorrow I'm fabbing up the front 3 tubes, and getting them attached to that down pipe flange. Once I get the front half built, I'll cut away the rear, and do those three tubes..I've got to pay close attention to the pictures I have of the engine so that I can determine how far I can extend the tubes forward before I turn them 180* back into what will be the collector that I'll mount to the downpipe flange.

It's in the engine at 109.5* currently. When it was running before, the motor made boost at part throttle (30%) and was at full boost by 2500 RPM. Cam guys that I have shared my cam specs with have always said the my specs are more tailored to a N/A profile as compared to a turbo version...and I concur..The engine transitioned into boost with very little lag....Means that I had good exhaust speed naturally aspirated.....time will tell.
