Sorry I just saw this and yes I raced the 1969 Mustang in SS/GA 1971-1974 and repainted it in 2005 close to the way it was in the 70's.Fine look'n ll, have to ask about that custom painted stang in the background, looks familiar, old drag car?
This was taken in 1971
In the shop now
Did you race that at bradenton?
I've seen that car or one painted similar in a magazine at sometime. I was hang'n at bradenton in the 70's

Yes I raced at Bradenton when it first opened and also a few years ago.
Today I traded a C6 and converter that was used in my race car (I now use a C4 behind the 428 CJ) for this 302 that has been rebuilt but sitting for a long time. It was in a Mustang that was upgraded to a 427 small block.
Looks new
I need to order a flex plate for the AOD. I'm also going to replace the water pump, harmonic balancer, fuel pump, intake and valve covers plus the correct oil pan for the Mustang II.
Now I need to get busy installing brake lines and fuel line before I install the engine.

I ordered a Ron Francis wiring harness and after looking at the back of the dash and seeing wires held together with masking tape I decided to remove everything and start over.
I will have to enlarge the openings to fit the new 4" Speedhut speedometer and tach that I ordered
I will also have to modify the dash to fit the 2 1/16" gauges

Speedhut gauges came in. Each gauge has a bag with wires, sending unit or whatever is needed to hook it up.
I have to modify the back side of the gauge panel.
I used a half round file to enlarge the hole.
I still have to paint the dash trim black

I've heard good and bad about their gauges as far as reliability, but NOBODY can say their gauges aren't beautiful. Looks great!Speedhut gauges came in. Each gauge has a bag with wires, sending unit or whatever is needed to hook it up.

This project has been on hold for awhile we have been busy working on customer cars but we have starting working on it again.
Nothing has been done with the wiring.
The engine I was going to use was a very bad rebuild and mostly junk. I have a new employee who has a lot of experience building small block Ford engines and is rebuilding the engine that came in it when I got it. We will be changing the cam, intake, carb and heads and maybe adding headers.
I have painted a few parts and started putting it together. We still have a lot of work to do.
