I agree that the changing of the taillights aren't that big of a deal. My brother put '87-'93 LX taillights on his '85 GT and I think that it looks better. He kept the original '85 GT nose though. Many people don't even notice the taillight swap. It's the nose piece that everyone notices.
The '79 Pace Car, '80-'81 Cobra, and '82 GT nose pieces are the most sought after of the early models, besides the '85-'86 GT's. There aren't many left, especially in the junkyards and there's no companies reproducing them. The best bet is to look on E-Bay, as I've seen many on there. Maybe someday, I'll score one of those, paint it the same color as my car and slap it on. Only a true afficianado would notice that I changed it.
I love the aero cars too, but because I see them every single day, I've lost my luster for them. Everytime that I see a foureye, (which is about once per week) excitement hits me like a ton of bricks. I actually have to speed up to go inspect it. LOL!
By the way, Twister, your car is simply amazing. I love those later model wheels on it!
