1986 Convertable 5.0 GT

Hi, just jumping back into the car world after a 14 year hiatus, I recently picked up a 1986 5.0 with a handful of bolt on's,, Cobra Intake, MSD ignition, big throttle body, BBK cold air, BBK shorty headers, H pipe and Pipes exhaust system, large core aluminum radiator plus a few more items. I know there are restrictions to building this year 5.0 at least normal power adders like cams. What I'm trying to figure out is approx HP and Torq with the bolt on's it currently has? It is an auto and has 4.10 gears, subframes, control arms, shock tower brace, so its fun to drive. So if anyone else has a setup like mine thats been tested to see wheel hp and torq and est at the block HP please share.

If the heads are stock, you're making stock HP.

paints been wet sanded to remove oxidation ,, you can see the fender in the motor pics thats before it was almost pink,,,still have a ways to go has new top ,,fairly rust free factory hp listed 200 so you think with the bolt ons its still 200? heads and cam are out unless I redo with pistons with valve relief 86 has flat top pistons and no clearance from my limited understanding

With the parts you have and a stock 86 bottom end (pistons are forged, rods are cast, crank is good for more HP than the block), you are [primed] for a set of TFS heads and later, boost, injectors, MAF conversion, and tune.


How is the engine otherwise? Do you get good oil pressure? Any leaks?

As for the block? You don't have much to worry about until 500-ish HP so long as the tune is good.
