Hey guys,

I wanted to know what it takes to get the T-5 from a 1986 SVO to fit in a 1989 Mustang with 5.0

I know the input shafts and the 1st gear ratios are different. So how can I get it to fit on the 5.0?

Thanks!

The input shaft is the same size as a N/A 2.3L T-5, so you would need to use the same pilot bearing as a regular 4-banger T-5 to make it work.

The gear ratios are steeper, but not by much. It is only rated at 250 ft-lbs thought

These are the ratios

3.50
2.14
1.39
1.00
0.78

I would like to know a list of parts I might need to convert the auto 89 5.0 into 5 speed.

I know it will need pedal assembly, clutch cable, cross member bar if its different from auto cross member bar. Anything else?

Thanks.
