I know my 88 has the other style. They must have changed over at some point. I hope the 87 is a carry over from 86. I will look at the NOS one I ordered ( cheaper than the crusty one listed on Ebay) and see if it has numbers. Might be good to add those numbers to this thread for future reference.

This did the trick, code is gone. I considered swapping the gray cap with the black caps on the original, but decided against it.
