I'm taking my rear and dropping off Sat to WickedMotorsports in brick nj to have the 3.73 gears, and new clutch disc, bearings, seals, ect...

so anyway... I'm taking all the brake hardware off (already clean and painted rest of rear) before I take it... and I was planning to install all new stuff anyway when I get it back... drums, wheel cyl, ect.. everything... (I do plan to one day convert it to rear disc, but that's way down the road)

so I'm looking on Rockauto... I'm starting with the drums, I see different listings, 9", 10", finned, not finned, automatic trans, manual trans... WTF....

mine is a 5sp car... would it have the 9" or 10"?

here's the link to the page - http://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/...302cid+v8,1133985,brake+&+wheel+hub,drum,1744

9"

The rangers got 10" drums, and you could swap them on (need all the parts obviously) but I've never heard of anyone actually ever doing that.

The other details don't matter. IIRC, the automatics got finned drums for extra cooling, but that's all been forgotten due to the age of these cars and rarity of original parts still existing on them. 79s got steel lined aluminum drums

Yeah, when I got home I removed all the old brake crap.. I measured and yep - 9" ... so... should I order the fined or non-finned... the old ones were non-finned...

And what brand? Bendix, raybestos? Hmmm of course the reybestos ones say not finned and automatic... and the finned raybestos ones say manual trans...
