I wish they had more of a challenge in their division. Sucks playing these crappy teams twice a yr then playing the harder teams in the playoffs. I think that showed last season they seemed to struggle more in the playoffs. I don't want them to breeze through the reg season b/c of playing teams w/ key injured players. Anything can happen its the NFL hell they could go 8-8 this year we don't really know

The Jets should be a good bit of competition this year, but I still think they have a long way to go before they can beat the Pats without it being a fluke.

They (New England) have some issues in the secondary, so i'm not sure how that will go. However, if Lynch can play a regular FS role and they can get somebody to step up as a stop-gap solution opposite of Hobbs then they should be ok. I'm more worried about the O-line than anything though, because of all the injuries and how bad they got tore up in the SB.

They had a few games against some good teams last year: Dallas, Pittsburgh, Indy, San Diego, and Philly if you want to include them.

IM by no means saying they fluffed their way to the Superbowl b/c they did play some tough teams last year and its always the situation of no matter who you are playing you need to win b/c any team can beat any other team. I'm just comparing their reg season play to the post season. I like the blow outs a lot more :D

Me too :D

I'd love to see one of those 38-14 wins when i'm there. Keep it close in the first half like the Pittsburgh game, 14-13, but then pull away big time in the second half with some big plays and kill the clock with the ground game in the last 10 minutes of the 4th quarter. Buuuuuuuuuuut.. who knows what i'll get to see.

No big shock there. What are the Giants to do now? Oh well never to early to wave the white flag.

I never really paid attention to football much until I started playing in the 6th grade, Ive always followed it quite a bit since then.

Naa they will move some people around. They have some voids but they can be filled. I think they will be a decent team.

I predict that the Giants will be fighting Washington for the bottom of the basement spot in the division. Eagles were looking really good at the end of the year and look good now and I think Dallas is ready to make a run for the Superbowl. Would be picture perfect for me for the giants to miss the playoffs finish under .500 and last in the division

Of course that would be good for you and Pats fans because the Giants "stomped you out" :rlaugh:

Anywhoo what makes everyone think the Pats will be just as dominate as last year? Didn't you guys loose some players in the off season? Isn't your Defense aging?? No doubt you'll be high up there as always, but your definaly not as immortal as you were last season by any means.

We lost Asante Samuel, but he was the only starter on D. We lost him, Eugene Wilson, and Randall Gay. Eugene only started when Sanders was hurt and Gay was the 3rd or 4th CB. They also released Roosevelt Colvin, but we hadn't had him since week 10.

Seau is gone, but the word seems to be that he'll sign after they cut the roster down.

The Pats infused the defense with a lot of youth the past couple years via Meriweather in the previous draft and then they picked up Jerod Mayo in the draft, which will be a strong addition to our D. Wheatley (2nd round pick) seems to really be jumping up the depth chart and may actually be a starting CB when the season comes. John Lynch was picked up to give some depth and they moved Adailus Thomas to OLB after Colvin went out, where he originally played, where he began to give a new dimension to our pass rush.. he was terrorizing Eli throughout the whole game in the SB and has done nothing but get even better over the offseason. I think they may even cut Victor Hobson when the final roster cuts are made since we've got a good amount of depth at the LB position now.

So it looks like we'll have a solid front 7 again, but an average group at CB and some real good experience at each of the safety positions.

Losing Asante Samual and picking up John Lynch is not exactly a blow to the defense. Jarod Mayo was an awesome pick up and will add some youth to the aging linebacker core

Mayo will be an excellent LB this year.. rookie of the year type of guy. I remember watching him stuff McFadden on nearly every play when we (the Hogs) played Tennessee this past year (unfortunately); he was all over the field.

Me and you both, brother! :flag:

Pats vs Giants thursday.. too bad it'll just be backups the whole game. I'd like to see the starters for both teams go at it for 3 quarters.

Uh Rodney Harrison :rlaugh: Dont knock another roid user when one your best guys got busted too.

There are users on every team.. thats why I don't talk about merriman other than to point out how hypocritical some people can be..

In rodneys case it was HGH ( just as bad but used more to improve regeneration of injuries) he got busted by a sting operation on his supplier.. I wonder how many guys are taking HGH since it is just about impossible to test for from what I understand..

Merrimen was busted for steriods, steriods are a much more effective performance enhancer, steroids will improve on the performance and strength beyond what you could do naturally. from what I have read about HGH it's benefit is increased energy and improved healing.. Now I will agree that the effects of HGH will allow a aging athlete like rodney to stick around longer and play at a higher level longer and thats what makes it a performance enhancing drug.

From what I have read many aging athletes use HGH to try and reverse the effect of declining natural HGH that your body produces..

I would bet many aging pro athletes are drawn to using HGH, I probably would use them myself if I was one of these guys, it could mean one more big contract.
