Thank you. I am a dolphins fan (sorry) and I'm sick of hearing everyone say that they only won because Brady is hurt. Miami has always given NE a run for their money, even in their worst seasons. The year that Miami went 4-12, one of their 4 wins was a blow-out victory over NE late in the year (I believe it was 2004).

The fact is, the Dolphins are getting better. They have talent, but it's a rebuilding stage and they aren't all on the same page yet. And I'll say it...flame all you want...If Brady weren't hurt, the Dolphins still would have won. One player would not have made up a 25-point difference against a rival team. The dolphins used some new ideas on offense that confused the hell out of NE. They looked impressive.

Also, the fact that Rodney Harrison accused Ricky Williams of playing dirty is laughable...

I agree with you that the 'Phins are getting better; Everything Parcells touches seems to turn into gold so it's only a matter of time til they're contending neck and neck with the Pats. I think Brady would've changed the way the game had been played, of course the 'Phins could've still scored 38 points since Brady doesn't play defense.. but he wouldn't have thrown the first pick and would've been able to destroy Miami's awful pass defense (no offense).

That '04 game was 28-29, but 'Phins still won it. Gotta give them credit for fighting hard everytime they play the Pats. :nice:

OMFG... that cheating crap is THE most over blown spun out of proportion story in the last 100 years...

Can you just let it go.. It really does not take a genius to figure out that the media blew this up as big as they could get it for ratings.. and shaded the truth about how tape is used in the NFl and the rules..

They had former players trying to invent impossible ways to use tape that they ESPN and the other news outlets that followed knew was not feasible..

Personally if I owned the pats or if I was belichick I would look into suing for slander.

this story is Much like how the liberal media blows republican F-ups out of proportion and covers up democratic ones.

The hate for the patriots has been strong for a few years now in the national sports media, The fact is Boston has won to much and people are sick of it, so when the spygate thing came out it was blown so far out of proportion that people were out right lied to by the media.

they know it's impossible to use the tape in the same game, the signals are to complex and are changed to often, plus there is not enough time to get them ready for the coaching staff since it has to be a football knowledgeable coach to break it down, and those personal are busy during a game doing something else..

The matt walsh interview proved me right in how the tapes were used.. I am still waiting for my job on ESPN since I obviously know so much more than the current sellout whores in the media.

The rush to bash this team and Bill Belichick who nobody in the media likes led them to ignore reason and facts and deliberately mislead people... If that is not illegal it should be, they should be sued..

They knew about reports of this videotaping since the 80's at least.. it was extremely commonplace and just about every team was doing it, and it was pretty much allowed for 20 + years since it's a foolish rule to begin with.

Was that reported..

NO

Why was it not reported in the mainstream media that this activity went on for years.. Why was it spun to look like only the patriots and BB were doing it..

I understand why you and some others want to hold onto that, it must somehow justify the losses to the pats in 2003 and 2004 in the playoffs..

But in reality in 2003 and 2004 the patriots were a superior team.

that game was not a blow out.. pats were ahead late and the dolphins finally pulled ahead on a ball brady threw from sitting on his ass and was picked.. it was a stupid throw and he should have never threw it..

thats the game in 2004

You might be talking about the 2006 game that was 21-0 I think.. that was the game where the pats could not get anything going..
.

I will say I never seen the O-line look that bad again until the superbowl on feb 3rd

You are right the dolphins always played them tough until last season, they got murdered last season.

Very well stated. I'm glad somebody made that post other than me. :nice:

And that 21-0 game, I believe that was the year that Nick Saban was down there and had installed mics on his D-lineman that year to capture the audibles of teams (although it wasn't blown out of proportion like spygate bc the Phins suck) and that was used against the Pats that game. However, the Pats still lost and I won't say they would've won had the 'Phins not had their audibles down. It was a loss to Miami and i'll accept it, it happens.. teams use whatever means they can get to gain a competitive advantage and use it to help themselves out, no big deal, it happens. As they say, "it's not the X's and O's, it's the Willy's and Joe's".. teams still have to go out and execute the gameplan no matter how much info they have on the other team.

Yes. I'm the first to admit that Brady would have torn into Miami's secondary just like Arizona did. I just don't think he would've outscored them.

I'm also sick of hearing about the Spygate "scandal." I don't like the Pats at all, but any other team would have done the same thing and it's probably not the first time it's been done. The media only made a big deal out of it because the Patriots were on top.

Well said. Nobody wants to admit this or listen, but Parcells admitted doing it, along with Jimmy Johnson (with the Cows, altho he did that plus more stuff), Bill Cowher has admitted doing stuff of the same type, etc.

It would've at least made for a very interesting Pats/Phins game if Brady had been there, win or lose. A shootout with a team that isn't supposed to be any good is always interesting :nice:

Not something I expected to see from that much of veteran defense. They all just seemed a step behind all day long. At least they have a week now to think about it

For sure, I expect them to come out with an extreme intensity in week 5 in San Fransisco. They're retiring Steve Young's number/jersey that day at halftime, so SF will be really fired up. They need to knock SF down early and keep them down.

Sportscenter just had a segment on whether Philip Rivers or Jay Cutler (no mention of Big Ben) had the brighter future in the NFL.

Mark Schelreth (who I think is one of the better talking heads out there) picked Cutler, citing his superior arm strength and athletic ability over Rivers.

Just another tidbit worth noting.

So if I compare a Cobra and a Vette, that makes the Vipers of the world crap because they weren't mentioned? You hear what you want to hear. It was a simple comparison of two QBs.

You do realize he used to play for the Broncos right? Oh.............that's why you think he's a good analyst.

Schlereth is an extreme biased, lying *******. That guy ripped the Pats soo bad last year and talked about how pathetic they were for video taping and how it should be punished further... but wait, he forgot to mention that the Broncos didn't follow the salary cap to keep Elway and their RB (davis, I think) at the same time although it wouldn't have been allowed.

Exactly.. Schlereth is a tool. I don't listen to most of the crap he says.

However, he did say that the Chargers were the team to beat in the AFC West. I was very shocked to hear him not pick "teh broncos" and slurp over them a while. :rlaugh:

Actually thats not true. That salary cap deal was used to fiance the building of Invesco, not to keep players we wouldn't have been able to. Basically we deferred Davis and Elway's salaries for a short time. Their salaries were reported and counted against the salary cap, but deferring their salaries was not approved and we were punished by the NFL.

No competitive edge was gained by what we did, and the NFL even acknowledged that in their statement.

Scherleth has actually been pretty critical of the Broncos since he went to ESPN, so much so that he's garnered some ill will from alot of us.

This is some good stuff..

Friday night, a few beers, a pizza.. and best of all.. watching Monday Night Football from October 17th, 1994; KC Chiefs @ Denver Broncos. Montana vs. Elway. :nice:

Montana was always my favorite player (still is).. i've got an autographed picture of him hanging up in my living room by all my other sports memorabilia :D

That was a great game. Too bad Montana had to finish with such a worthless franschise.

They weren't that bad when he was there.

They had Montana, Marcus Allen, and what looked to be a really good O-line because Montana rarely even got touched in that game; he seemed to have all day back there to pick out a wr/te to throw it to.

He took them to the AFC Championship once, I believe. Correct me if i'm wrong.

Watching that old Montana game reminded me why I can't hate on the Chiefs or Niners. Always was a Montana fan, so I guess i've got a soft spot for those teams. I just wish they would actually get back to being good again; the Niners have looked good so far, but we'll see how that translates through the whole season.

Kind of makes you sick to look at the 49ers back then and see how good they had it with Steve Young backing up Joe Montana. Two of the best ever on the same team, haven't really seen anything like that since.
