Their window of success?

Tom Brady will be back next year, i'm not sure what you're thinking about.

Montana won SB's later in his career, so did Elway. Brady will win at least 1 more before it's all said and done.

Their Defense is old as dirt. svttech76 thinks the same thing. No sure thing Brady will be the same either. Even if he is they won't win another SB. Don't get me wrong, they will be competitive.

Brady has a 95% chance to be the same old Brady. His injury wasn't nearly as bad as Carson Palmer's, if that's what you're comparing it to. He should be just fine after a year.

Their defense may be older, but they have a LOT of young guys in there getting experience this year. Meriweather, Wheatley, Wilhite, Mayo, Guyton, Crable, Ruud, etc. The front 3 aren't that old. Bruschi and Harrison are old, Vrabel is getting up there.. and Adalius Thomas is about as old as the front 3. Hobbs and Sanders aren't old. They've only got a few old guys, but the young guys are coming along and should be replacing the others soon. I don't have any problems about the age of that defense, it's not like they're all 11 and 12 year players. Bruschi and Harrison probably won't be around after this year, but other guys will step up and fill their shoes. The young guys greatly outnumber the older ones. So I don't think it will be a problem in years to come. Belichick is no idiot, he knows how to replace people and keep his defense up.

I think they'll be back to competing in the AFC Championship next year, but no later than the following year, depending on how quickly Brady comes along.

I still think Brady can win 1 or 2 more, it shouldn't be that hard to grasp. They might not be the team they were last year, but they'll be back on top when he's back.

That's probably what people said about the 49er's of the 80's until they won a couple more later. I think they're going to be like that. Maybe in '10 or '11. Maybe not 2 more, but I think they'll be in 1 more. You don't have to be spectacular to win one, you just have to be healthy or on a roll at the right time; look at some of the recent teams to win them. The '06 colts had the 23rd ranked defense and still won it all because they had Peyton Manning and that offense and some playmakers on defense.

They will be more like the Steelers after their 4th ring. Still extremely competitive but not quite enough.

I just think that our offense can allow for the age/mistakes to be made on defense since they're so efficient with Brady in the game. But I guess we'll see. I'm sure we could both argue until our fingers hurt from typing. I'll just stop arguing so it doesn't turn into a pissing match or anything. We both have our opinions and that's all that matters. :nice:

I thought this thread was a pissing match?

:D

My prediction for the playoff picture:

AFC

East - New England
Cassel is no Brady, but he's 3-1....not bad. He's good enough to keep them on top.

West - Denver
San Diego will not rebound. This is a bad year for them. Denver will easily win the division.

North - Pittsburg
Weak division. Baltimore will be a good team, but Flacco needs more experience.

South - Indianapolis
Peyton is just in shock because he's never really dealt with injury. The 4th-quarter comeback in Houston has re-assured him of what he is capable of under pressure. They will turn it around and the Titans will start screwing up and start losing. Collins is good at doing that...

Wild Cards - Jets & Titans
The Jets and Farve with start to get used to eachother and turn things around. The bills aren't the powerhouse that some people think. They've barely escaped defeat on a couple of occasions and the Cards killed them. Teams with a long passing game are going to do the same.
Miami will hang tough and pull out a winning season (8-8 or 9-7), but it's a strong division and they'll probably still finish last.
Keep an eye on the 'phins. They'll be the team to beat in the AFC East in another couple of years.

NFC

East - Giants
New York is awesome. Baby Manning is a damn good QB and that SB was no fluke. They will win, but the 'skins will make it tough.

West - Arizona
The cards are "hit or miss," but they're in arguably the weakest division in the league. There will be wild card teams with more wins than them.

North - Green Bay Packers
The packers will bounce back after the bye-week and win the division with Chicago close behind.

South - Carolina
Good division but Carolina is a little better and hanging in there for the long-haul than it's division rivals.

Wild Cards - Chicago & Washington
The bears will be right behind the packers, maybe even with the same amount of wins.
Sorry cows fans. Dallas won't keep it together and the 'skins have their number.

So that's my prediction....
