what would it cost to fix the ac and heat in a 93 5.0 assuming prety much everything needs replacing and the work will be done yourself? i have an older compressor but not positive it works. even the controls need replacing.
im not scared of the work and i have time because this is gonna be a project car, i actually posted about the same car at the end of last year but the money had to be spent somewhere else so now im back to square 1.
not even sure where i stand on the ac thing depending on if its a mostly drag car (but ac would be nice) im looking at fabbing an upper intake for a m112 or m122 off a cobra or gt500.
i can get the car for 1200 so im wondering if the ac is worth it or not. the car need so other stuff replaced but the ac is the biggest cost i believe.

RockAuto Auto Parts also has some of the a/c parts for good pricing.

I'm putting A/C back on my car, and i'm up to $500 or so in new parts. I wouldn't even go with a used compressor that has been sitting open for some time. At a minimum you'll have to disassemble it and install a new seal kit.

Thats because no one puts Eatons on OHV 5.0's. The only positive-displacement supercharger for the 5.0 is a Kenne Bell. I suppose you could fab up an Eaton to fit, but that'd be more work than fun.

i ws trying to think of something different. im also getting a list together with prices to see how deep its going into the pocket. the cost will determine if i buy the car. this is going to be a project car. i have some friends with carbed big blocks in drag cars and im wanting something something a little different, maybe a fuel injected 331 or 347 stroker with a blower. i can get a procharger or vortech off ebay for 1000-1500 but if i can do something custom for the same i think that would be neater. something with a/c is a must in florida. if anyone has any ideas please postem up, lets see what you got.

Have you seen info about an Eaton on a 5.0? If someone's done that i'd actually like to see that. And that would be a way cool project. I was wanting to fab an Eaton on my 5.0 until i heard about Kenne Bell.

i've looked on a lot of forums and websites online and have only seen the eaton m90 on the 5.0. there is a bracket made to put the m12 on a 4.6 2valve. but not for 5.0 so it would have to fabricated. ive sen pics of someone who cut the upper intake apart about 2"-3" above where it mounts to the lower intake then welded flatstock at an angle, then welded a pracket on top of that and mounted the blower on it. if i can find the website ill post it here.

I did mine for around 650. I converted it to R134 while I was at it.
