Have you verified it is a 'cobra' engine?

I haven't gone to see it yet, I have my cheat sheet of holes, stamps, and forge marks to look for. Doubt I can remove the valve covers.

Not that it means much but those look like 19 lb injectors peeking out from under that intake.

Didn't they sell these engines as crate motors? 93-98 or something??

Didn't original cobras come with tubular intake?

Not the 93-4-5 cobra mustangs, the lighting truck got a 351 with the tubular intake.

Race motor with 19s

Didn't the Cobras have Cobra stamped into the steel valve covers?

I do see that the air injection tubes at the back of the heads. If the engine has 3 bar GT40 heads that would mean they are not Explorer heads and would be Cobra or Lightning heads (which unless you are looking to make a Cobra correct don't really affect power potential).

I think it might be a "put together" Cobra motor but I don't think it was yanked as a complete assembly, out of a Cobra.

I'd say it's probably worth what a used 302 is worth but add money for the heads, intake, and any other Cobra-specific part that makes people want them.

Nah... He didn't say he had the computer. Just the engine

Pretty sure this has been in something else since the Cobra if it even came out of one as one assembly.

A couple years ago I picked up a stock bottom end 302, GT40 3-bars (Explorer) with smoothed ports, E-cam, 1.7RRs. Long block with oil pan. $1000 CDN.

Damn. That’s a flat side intake. That’s early production. That motor might be legit.

GT heads, valve covers are correct. I see 19# injectors but that upper manifold is a rare part installed on the first 500 or so production cobras. Was never available aftermarket
