im swapping in a engine harness from a 1993 mustang 5.0 automatic into a 1986 gt. anyone have any suggestions to make this easier? Do I need the body harness from the 1993 or can I add the vss wires from the mass air cnonversion I already did?
No, it won't work without all the wiring from the 93, unless you are a wiz at repinning and redoing a wiring harness. An 89 harness would be the closest to a drop in to your car. just an fyi.
In order to use a 1993 engine harness, you'll need to swap all the harnesses...the body harness too. Plus you didn't mention if your 86 was an AOD or t5. There are some slight differences
I did the IST mass air conversion. It worked great and easy to do. I have the entire drive train out oof the 93 including engine aod trans rear engine harness and body harness. I plan on doing the interior in the spring. Im converting to an aod because of my knee. everything is in great shape. this should be a plug and play correct?
