Hi all,

So, as per the subject, I seem to have a leak! Spotted it when moving off of the driveway today - car's not been used for a week or so.

It would appear that it is dripping from this...

What is that and can anyone advise if this is going to be a bad one or not? It seems to be a dark green in colour from what I can make out but I can't detect an odour as I have a lousy sense of smell!

I took her for a drive anyway and all was fine - no heating issues, brakes fine, power steering fine etc.

Thanks in advance.

Antifreeze, my first guess would be a leaky hose, next would be waterpump.

Thanks for the response.

The anti-freeze in the car is of the pink variety so I don't think it's that.

I have since discovered that this could be Air Conditioning Leak Dye - the AC system in the car doesn't work as the compressor is broken - has been for all the time I have had the car (18 months). I took it somewhere last year to get it diagnosed, when I found out that it was the compressor at fault, and a dye was put in at the time. As it didn't go anywhere at the time, it could be leaking out now.

Coolant level is where it should be and nothing else seems to be off at the moment so I am hopeful that this is all it is as I am not concerned about that.

Could be, I think there is an ac line that runs above that area.

Checked the coolant last night - all fine - and went out for a drive.

Upon return, coolant still fine and no leak occurring.

So hopefully it was (is?) indeed the AC dye...
