I am thinking long and hard about selling 1995 saleen number 111, a s351 coupe.

I bought the car several months ago from the original owner. Alas, my dream car has presented itself to me and to keep things calm on the home front, I think I should really sell number 111.

It is not an original blower car but in hindsight, that may be a positive. It was a birthday present to a very lucky 16 year old. Not just any kid, but a boy from a wealthy Ford/Shelby racing family. He drove it for a number of years and long after it was a daily driver, he asked Cobra Automotive ( the nations leading Shelby Race car shop) to order evrything from saleen to make the car a Vortech s351. They did so and the engine promptly let go....a piston ring skirt blew off. In my newbie view, this is the achilles heal of early s351's.

So, they then contracted with Cobra Automotive to completely go through the engine and make it right for the long term, including a custom set of Kooks ( The car was shipped to NY for them to be made on the car!) headers. All in all, the bills add up to about 75-80K spent on this car. It now has 19,000 miles. About 2K on the total rebuild.

The car runs perfectly. It pulls about 460 or so to the wheels. I have a dyno sheet around here somewhere. GreatAir/fuel ratios..maybe a little fat but that keeps it safe!

White car, black graphics, black cloth recaro's, white upgrade wheels ( I'll throw in an extra set for the right price so you can have a silver set as well). Understand, the blower install was not only a Saleen package, but upgraded per the later year understanding of the fuel issues.

It is a great car and for the person that wants a ( as much as possible) trouble free s351, it is probably a good buy. The downsides. It has a minor oil leak( rear main) and the nose, front fenders were painted to keep the car looking fresh. It is a great match, but I am a paint geek. I can tell a hue difference in certain lights. Not unlike how none of the Saleen body pieces ever match because saleen did not use the same primer color...or at least I think that is the reason.

Pls e mail or PM me if you have any genuine interest. Thank you.

Dan
