1996 3.8 v6 temp gauge stuck on hot

Any ideas why my gauge is stuck on hot even when the key is off and car hasn't ran in a year?

I'm sure someone will chime in eventually. No need to start 2 threads on the same subject. You can always just comment in the first thread.

The gauge might just be bad. Have you pulled the lead off of the temp sending unit. I haven't worked on that motor but I'm guessing it has the same basic stuff everything else has. Also, the sending unit could be bad. Have you tried draining the fluid to see how it looks.
