I've got a 96 GT Vert with long tube headers that I have to replace the oil pan because of rust. It has the oil level sensor on the side. I can't find a new oil pan with this sensor. All the oil pans I find are for 96 to 2004 4.6 and don't have provisions for this sensor.


I'd like to keep the oil level sensor functional. I've looked in all the local pick-n-pulls with no luck.


Anyone run across this issue?

Are you able to find a weld in bung to match the sensor threads?

I haven't really looked for a bung, but not sure if they make them that big. I was hoping someone ran in to this issue already and had a quick fix. Everyone is just telling me to use a pan without the sensor and just cut the wiring off. I was kind of wanting to keep the sensor even though I check my oil religiously.
