well i got the clutch and everything back together in this truck and its still has a terrible knocking comming from the back of the motor. The shop mechanic says that the noise is comming form the bellhousing and its the clucth causing it. I know the motor is screwed(4.3 vortec 168,000 miles) it sounds like a rod is gonna come through the oilpan anytime now. My boss says that i put the wrong clutch in this thing when i know i didnt and he says the knocking is because of the wrong clutch installed. Everything went together smoothly and i know its all in right/ torqued to spec. My question is......... is it possible to put the "wrong" clucth in something, or am i right and the motor is done.
this truck is a light service truck(AAA)
motor wont rev over 4 grand and wont pull the truck down the road.
no oil pressure b4 knocking now has great oil pressure but sounds like its gonna come apart
