1998 Cobra mustang tick???

Hello,
I just purchased a 1998 cobra mustang with 75,000 miles. After the second day of driving it, a loud ticking/rattling noise is coming from the driver side of the engine. When I rev up the engine the noise gets louder and faster. I was hoping someone might know what this is?

Could be an exhaust leak (?) Can you narrow down where you are hearing the noise at on the driver's side? Does it have aftermarket headers on it? Maybe it's the exhaust manifold-to-Hpipe connection?

Also check the oil level after the car has sat for a couple of hours - this will let you get an accurate oil reading from the dipstick. It's possible the car may have been running low on oil, it's a good idea to keep a close tab on the oil level for these engines...g'luck!
