New to the forum, been searching on this topic for a few weeks and having a hard time finding a definite answer on whether or not I can take a gauge cluster from a 1998 Cobra and install it in my 1998 GT. The tach on my current cluster is not working so I am very interested in pursuing this swap. Based on the info I have seen to date it appears that this should work as long as the cluster is from the same year (sounds like this constraint is unique to the 98 model year) Are there any other issues that I should be aware of .

Thanks in advance for feedback or experiences with this swap.

I do not have a cobra cluster to compare to but all information I have read points to "Yes, they match up" I am more concerned about the fuel and oil pressure gauges working correctly. Wanted to see if anyone had gotten this to work and verified all the gauges worked before buying a used cluster on eBay or via a classified ad.

Hmm, sorry but I can't answer that definitively because I don't have experience with it. However I would say that if the harness matches up then it should receive info the same as the GT cluster does. You're probably better off just buying one specifically for a GT...there are parts cars almost everywhere, I'm sure you can find one.

Going to give this install a try in the next week, hoping it works.
