I picked up a 2000 GT auto and I have a list of parts that I want to put on, but I don't know if these parts need a chip to make them fully functional?? Do I have to have a chip??

CnL 80mm MAF w/trueflow pipe
CnL Plenum w/BBK 75mm TB
Steeda UD pulleys
SLP full length headers, X pipe w/cats, and resonators

The chip I'm looking at is a Delta Chip from Diablo. Please Help!!!!

Exactly. get the tune after putting the mods on at once tho, so you don't have to pay a tuner multiple times to tune the car.

You wont have to have a chip but after installing your mods it wont hurt.

A dyno tune will net you the best bang for the buck .Another idea is to get the SCT software-it includes a chip and tuning software .SO you can tune it yourself(comes with a base tune based on your mods).

Just my opinion... but I wouldn't use the C&L MAF. Some dyno tuners will not touch your car if it has one on it. I guess they have a rep. The rest of the C&L bolt ons seem to be very good though...

good start, but make some 4.10's your next purchase. That's what I'm planning on doing in the spring.

Anyone else know anything about this. I was planning of this MAF. Someone chime in. Sorry to hijack your thread. Yes, you must do gears.

i've heard quite a few negative things about c&l's electronics, but everything else that they carry seems pretty good.

btw - i don't have any personal experience with their electronics. i'm just going off of what i've seen people post on here, & also one experience that a friend of mine had.

advance and retard timing in the right places for premium octane, clean your a/f ratio, calibrate speedometer, turn off rear 02 sensors (for aftermarket midpipes), and more that I probably don't even know.

I had the C&L and it worked great.Even got mine tuned with it(n|A).

Guess you also dont realize the electronics in the c&l are the stock electronics taken out of the factory maf.The c&l is basicly just a diffferent housing for the stock electronics.

But you are correct some dont like the c&l.Mine loved it.Pullies and maf netted me 10 rwhp~15rwtq (N\A)

Been using the C&L maf since I got my 99GT....ran 13.1's with under a $1k in bolt ons, an 12.1 with a 100shot of nos added...just dynoed 320rwhp N/A on my new motor and 100% sure i will dyno at least 350rwhp after my new heads, cams and tune are done.....all with a C&L maf installed....must be working fine I would assume by my results

The only thing you listed that will require a chip/tune is the MAF. A dyno tune will optimize those mods in a way an off the shelf chip can't, but the PCM will adapt to everything except the MAF.
