Found out my bonus isn't as big as I wanted...and we still want to redo the bathroom. So I've budgeted 2,000.00 for mods on the stang.

Here's what I'm looking at:
JLT cai and sct tuner: $549.00
Pypes off road x-pipe: $160.00
4:10 gears and installed: $500.00
....

What else?? $791.00 to play with.

I'm debating ... springs, style bar, under drive pullies, cams(but would need them installed and tuned), headers, short throw shift, throttle body, ...

so really... 791 to play with...what else would you do?

Aluminum driveshaft is the next best go fast mod for under $791.

You can get a spydershaft for about $500. 30 lb reduction in rotating mass. Do it with the gear install.

UDP's look like another good mod. I'd stay away from the throttle body.

And the Style bar always looks good on the convertibles, and you rarely see them. (They're pricey).

You will be excited about the mods you already plan to buy because those make the biggest improvement.

Yea, close to it. It weighs 16.5 lbs compared to the 2 piece 45 lb stock shaft.

Are the gains from the spydershaft worth the money?

How much improvement from it at the track?

Hhhmmm, 30 lbs less rotating mass, sounds like that could help gas mileage too. Where would one get a spyder shaft from?

Aluminum driveshaft is worth 2/10ths of a sec in the 1/4 typically.

You can get the Spydershaft at www.leonardracingproducts.com

I've also heard that aluminum driveshafts are good for about 2/10 off quarter mile times

What are you using your car for most? If you are drag racing, then the driveshaft sounds like the way to go. If you are on the street more, I would go with a suspension. A lot of one piece driveshafts require changing the pinion angle using an adjustable upper control arm if you ever plan on lowering the car.
